Dad, can we get a dog instead of an ant?

A dog, that's what I asked for. A normal dog with a tail and ears, that barks if needed and when you throw things at it to bring them to you. But Dad had a different opinion. It's my fault, too, for letting Santa's decide, because in the end my first pet, Miltos, was an ant.
